Climate Smart Livelihoods and Farming for Vulnerable Communities

Sukkur - Kitchen gardens

Sukkur, Pakistan

Scatec provides a platform for community men and women to enhance income generation and improve livelihoods through trainings, capacity building, and the provision of tool kits.

The intervention highlights the importance of kitchen gardening, gender inclusion in agriculture, and livelihood diversification to build resilience through integrated livestock, poultry, kitchen gardening, and off-farm income generation trainings.

The challenge

  • Low motivation among community

  • Social and cultural barriers limiting women participation
  • Poor socio-economic conditions affecting overall development

How we worked together

In partnership with NGO MERF, Scatec introduced skills-based trainings for livelihood generation, and tool kits designed and delivered to support the vulnerable community groups and improve socio-economic conditions.
