Oslo, 21 October 2026: Scatec has revised its full-year 2026 power production EBITDA estimate down by NOK 300 million to NOK 3,300 to 3,600 million.
The revision reflects several adverse developments:
- Russia has intensified its attacks on energy infrastructure in Ukraine. This is causing disruptions to operations of Scatec’s power plants in the country and delays in repair works for the power plant that sustained a direct attack in 2025. The prolonged war is also negatively impacting the country risk assessment and longer-term power price outlook.
- In the Philippines, the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) announced on 12 October that the reserves market for ancillary services has been suspended. The market operator has been asked to propose a redesigned market structure to limit elevated prices within six months, and in the meantime seek to enter longer term contracts to meet demand for ancillary services.
- In South Africa, commercial operation of the Mogobe battery energy storage system is delayed due to delayed connection work by state-owned utility Eskom.
- In Pakistan, the true-up process for the electricity tariff, previously expected to be resolved during 2026, is likely to be delayed.
- Since last reporting, exchange rates for key operating currencies of Scatec have continued to weaken relative to NOK which negatively impacts the 2026 EBITDA estimate.
Scatec continues to assess the financial implications of these developments and will provide further updates at the third quarter results presentation on 30 October 2026.
