Petrusville Community I-Centre

In Petrusville, the community I-Centre provides ICT services to the community.

The challenge

Access to reliable internet and ICT services is crucial for education, communication, and economic development. The community of Petrusville lacked the infrastructure and resources to access these services. The I-Centre provides the necessary ICT support to the broader community.

How we worked together

The I-Centre is open from 8am to 4pm every day. We have employed a local programme administrator to ensure the efficiency of the centre.  The services provided vary from assisting school children with their school assignments, to helping local SMMEs to update their business documentation, CV writing, interviews and more. The centre has become a tool to connect the community with the world and allows them to thrive in today’s digital age.

Key results

The I-Centre is a tremendous success, seeing the kids’ faces light up when the computer lights up on their faces. The impact is undeniable, let’s continue working together!

Kalkbult, South Africa, 75 MW

Situated in the Northern Cape region, Kalkbult was the first project commissioned under Round 1 REIPPP in March 2014, and the first REIPPP project to be grid connected and operational in South Africa. It is the only fixed tilt plant in the portfolio, with an exceptional production record contributing to regional growth and portfolio performance. The project holds a 20-year PPA with Eskom, the national utility company. The equity partners are Stanlib, Old Mutual, Simacel and Community Trust. Lenders are Standard Bank + syndicate lenders.
