In Hanover, Scatec improved water infrastructure in Hanover Primary School by supplying 4 booster pumps and connecting 4 Jojo tanks to supply water to the toilets, ensuring uninterrupted water supply to improve sanitation facilities for the learners.
The challenge
The school has a total of learners 937 from the local community, starting from Grade R until Grade 7. The school had challenges of not having enough water supply in the toilets and as a result the toilets were not able to flush and most of the taps were broken.
How we worked together
Scatec contracted a local plumbing contractor to upgrade the water supply, by adding a stage 3 filtration system to the reservoir which is the main water supplier to the school. 4 booster pumps were connected to 4 Jojo tanks that supply water in 4 ablution facilities. 47 taps were replaced with a press-on type tap which was highly recommended for saving water.
Key results
- 937Students attending the school
- 1Stage 3 filtration system
- 47Press-on taps installed
- 4Booster pumps, steel frames & booster pump covers
Thanks to Scatec for being an excellent partner in Education and helping our Hanover Primary School with the Water System Upgrade Project. Our 937 learners can use toilets now and wash their hands afterwards because of the project.
